There's a short film entitled “Silent” that's gaining steam all over the Internet. It draws attention to the power of kindness. It was produced by a high school freshman and it depicts a deaf student who is bullied.

The message is to be kind. Instead of just being reactive to bullying, why not be proactive and teach kindness to kids?

Here's our Fox 11 discussion and tips.

How to Teach Your Kid to be Kind

-Find ways to practice being kind in everyday life

-It's easy to be kind to those who are kind to you, be kind to everyone

-Model kindness and empathy

-Educate your kids about famous altruists

Extra Tip:

-Give your kids Brownie Points when they show kind acts. It's a good way to let them know that you see and recognize their kind behavior. The Brownie Point isn't payment of any kind, it's just recognition. Young kids love it! They are proud you see them as kind kids.
